It is finished

The Finished Work of Jesus

28 After  this, when Jesus knew that everything was now accomplished  that the Scripture might be fulfilled, He said, “I’m thirsty!”  29 A jar full of sour wine was sitting there; so they fixed a sponge full of sour wine on hyssop  l and held it up to His mouth.

30 When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!”  Then bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.

Today is Good Friday. But why, do we call the day that Jesus died Good Friday? Seemingly, a day of death should not be considered good. But there is so much more to the story! It is a story of Hope. It is a story of eternal life!

Humans are sinful and needed atonement for our sin. Jesus the one and only perfect human that lived took our sin on himself so we could have eternal life. With Jesus’s death on the cross, we were direct given access to God. His sacrifice on the cross to the point of death is the story of HOPE.

Our HOPE is eternal life in our everlasting heavenly home if you have made the decision to accept Christ as your Savior. If you have questions about accepting Christ, I am happy to talk to you about that.
