Earlier this week, I had to make an emergency trip to Florida. My Dad’s full-time caregiver was bit by their cat, and it got so bad that she had to have surgery, so I needed to be present for a few days. However, I did not do it with the right attitude; quite frankly, I had other plans for the week. It seems just when I get in a routine, things change, and I have to pivot. However, isn’t that what our entire country is doing right now? Aren’t we all learning how to pivot in some way or another?
Stand on the promises of God
This is when I can stand on the promises of God. Now, I am not Joshua, son of Nun, that Moses is encouraging in this verse in Deuteronomy, but I do think that in every circumstance that we face, The Lord is reminding us to be strong and courageous, why? Because we go with His power! We are told in this verse in the Old Testament that God will never leave us or forsake us.
6 Be strong and courageous; don’t be terrified or afraid of them. For it is the Lord your God who goes with you; He will not leave you or forsake you.”
In the New Testament, in John, when Jesus is talking with his disciples, he also reminds us of our counselor that is always with us.
16 And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever.
Lord, thank you for reminding me in Your Word, that You will always be with me. When everything around me is changing and I am having to adjust, thank you for being reliable, consistent and present. In Jesus name, Amen
