Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ask in faith without doubting. For the doubter is like the surging sea, driven and tossed by the wind. 7 That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 An indecisive man is unstable in all his ways.
That person, a doubter, is defined as a person who questions or lacks faith in something, a skeptic. If we doubt God, why would He give us wisdom? An indecisive or as some translations use, a double-minded man is a literal translation of the Greek expression that means our soul and mind is divided between God and the world. And if we doubt, we are unstable and prone to fall.
The best antidote for combatting doubting is taking a look back through your faith journey. I enjoy looking at the answered prayers in my life and those around us and this is a great time to review! A reminder that God is faithful and His desire is to give to us generously. Take a few minutes now to remember all God has and is doing in your life right now and thank Him for His provision.
I would love to hear what you are thankful for during this time! Leave a comment below.
