5 For His anger lasts only a moment,
but His favor, a lifetime.
Weeping may spend the night,
but there is joy in the morning.
Uncertainty has plagued our country for the past three months, we have seen evil first hand, and we have been challenged personally to examine our views and to see how they align.
Earlier this year, I wrote a post about our quiet time and spending time with God daily. When we are in The Word of God, His Words become alive and active. They are comforting, encouraging, rebuking, teaching, guiding, and ALWAYS available.
Finding Joy in the Scriptures
I need to hear from The Lord, and the best way to do that is to dive into His Word. I need Him to search my heart and show me where I am failing. Help me to think as He would have me believe. But I also need to be encouraged. I need to find Hope.
In Psalm 30, David is crying out to God in song. He reminds us in verse 5 that God’s anger only lasts a moment, but His favor a lifetime! There is Hope! Our sorrow and weeping can last spend the night, but when the sun comes up, there is JOY! Yes, JOY. Joy is not our present circumstances, and we have Joy because we know Jesus.
Dear Lord, we want to have Joy because we know you. Search our hearts and show us the areas that we need to work on. We desire to be more like you and love our neighbors as ourselves. As we cry out to you, heal our land, but start with us. In Jesus name. Amen.
