Our Son-in-Love celebrated his First Father’s Day this past weekend! We have known our oldest daughter, Alex, and SIL would begin their family in a “non-traditional” way for years. So, this year, Preston celebrating his first father’s day with three little boys (3, 7 & 8) who call him Daddy was so special. We have watched him over the past seven months guide, nurture, discipline, and love on three lives that will be forever changed by his resolve, persistence, and obedience to The Lord’s calling.
God gifts each of us uniquely
God gifts each one of us uniquely to do Kingdom work for his glory. We often hear other people’s stories and think I could never do that. You are Right! You probably were not called to do that. Each of us has our gifts and talents and are expected to use them to further the Kingdom of God. We need to write our own story and Own our Journey of Faith. Especially in the time of social media overload and the instantaneous world news, videos, and perfect pictures, our focus needs to be on what God is calling each of us personally to do. Peter reminds the people to use their gifts in 4:10-11:
10 Based on the gift each one has received, use it to serve others, as good managers of the varied grace of God. 11 If anyone speaks, it should be as one who speaks God’s words; if anyone serves, it should be from the strength God provides, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ in everything. To Him belong the glory and the power forever and ever. Amen.
It is such a privilege to watch our children be obedient to The Lord’s calling, especially in the hard stuff! Dude and Sassy are grateful for the opportunity to be grandparents!

Great picture! And you’re so right about us not being called to do other people’s lives. Finding thankfulness for the journey God designed for us can be hard in the trials but the triumphs are oh so worth it.
Jenny, Indeed it can be hard and sometimes, it is hard to practice gratitude in the midst. But yes, the triumphs are worth it.
