This week I am attending a virtual writer’s conference, “She writes for Him.” This morning as I was reviewing my notes and looking at the scripture sited, a nearby passage caught my eye, Psalm 138. The Heading in my Bible is, “A Thankful Heart,” one of David’s writings:
1 I will give You thanks with all my heart;
I will sing Your praise before the heavenly beings.
2 I will bow down toward Your holy temple
and give thanks to Your name
for Your constant love and truth.
You have exalted Your name
and Your promise above everything else.
3 On the day I called, You answered me;
You increased strength within me.
We are certainly in a crazy time, and the world is not as we knew it. We are living with uncertainty about so many things, the economy, our jobs, our health, the health of our aging parents, and the list goes on. But especially with all of the uncertainty, I have a thankful heart for God’s constant love and truth that He answers me when I call, and He will strengthen me when I need it.
These are promises to rest on daily (or sometimes, by the minute!) Having a thankful heart every day will encourage others around you. They will want what you have, a relationship with Christ that points to gratitude.
Lord, let me express my thankful heart to you today and everyday. I am grateful that you know and see me. I will sing Your praises. Amen.
